Amanda Ariel "Peggy" Xeller is a little comedy clown residing in Brooklyn. Her solo work has been featured in the Sketch Republic, at L.I.T., Charm City Comedy, Dojo Comedy and was a part of the L.A. Scripted Comedy Festival, NYC Sketchfest, Philly Sketchfest, Lady Laughs Comedy Festival, and was named a "stand out" and "audience favorite" at Montreal Sketchfest by Mobtreal. She headlined the sketch night of Ladyfest. She produces the annual Moxie Lab for Female and Non-Binary Comedians and co-produces Ringers at the Magnet Theater. She runs The Vortex program in partnership with The Magnet Theater, which gives writers and actors a chance to collaborate and develop an original sketch show in an ensemble-environment. She's also the producer for The Friendship Comedy Collective. She teaches independent workshops in sketch writing, character creation, and improv.
She has improvised with several Megawatt Teams, was a part of TimeOut Chicago pick and highly-traveled house sketch team Baby Shoes, performed frequently at The Annoyance Theatre BK (RIP), and has written several shows including Amanda Xeller: Darkness Prince, Peggylouloulouloulou, Pegasus, and DEATH LIPS 2: KISS OF DEATH. She performs regularly at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective, Upright Citizen’s Brigade, and in the dankest basements and muddiest backyards.
Amanda has studied comedy at the Magnet Theater, Upright Citizen's Brigade, Annoyance NY, Movement Theater, Barrow Group, and with Complicité in London, England. She's an alumna of the National Theater Institute. She holds a BA in Theatre from Fairfield University where she received The Award for Outstanding Service to the Theater Arts Program for her achievements and pursuits in improv.
In 2012 she created Improv Archive, an online improv database, though she hasn't touched it in a long time. If websites collected dust there’d definitely be a dust-bunny city on that site.
Amanda hails originally from Houston, Texas where she lived across the street from an alligator filled bayou and a short 10 minute bike ride away from the legendary space cows of NASA. She wishes she could sing like Justin Hawkins.
